And a Merry Christmas to you too...

WOW its the start of a new year. HAPPY NEW YEAR...

Christmas was just around the corner and it felt like no Christmas at all. I don't think i'm even sure i know what Christmas is supposed to be about...I cant ever remember it being about anything religious, well actually, when i was very small it was, that's when my great grandfather was the pastor for our church and my grand aunt was the head deaconess. Ha, that was clearly eons ago....

But i used to look forward to Christmas...at least a few years ago Christmas meant holidays from school, the end of exams, etc. Food, lots and lots of it, presents, the trees, the lights, seeing all the family that usually come back from foreign, going to visit my grandparents, getting money and heading out to see my friends at Grand Market.

But now, i have no holidays to get, not with work, you know you get the public holidays, and the food, well I've reached that point where i am expected to cook my own Christmas dinner, mom had to do it all those years before so its my turn now...but its not all that fun when there's no one to cook for, when your siblings have grown up and branched off to their own families; and of course the presents, well ha...it used to be fun to wake up in the morning and open presents but when that doesn't happen, its as if Christmas never even reached, there is still the tree at least and thats my own and only little affair with Christmas because I've out grown Grand Market and opt to stay home and now that I'm all grown and working...NO MONEY FROM THE FAMILY FROM FARIN....LOL.....

So my one new year's resolution-------> to make my own Christmas this year, i'm taking charge and hell or high water....i will have Christmas :) And my promise to make sure that my children know and appreciate Christmas the way it was meant to be
